Writing Response answering the following questions:
“What are the 4 strengths or skills I bring to this team multimedia authoring project?”
“What behaviors can I practice to most effectively contribute to this team project?”
When working with a team it is important to understand the skills and experience each member has in a particular department. I feel that when the different skills are recognized the group as a whole can recognize who should be the leader in each area.
Having someone who already has particular skills or experience with certain areas can assure the proper completion of that department for the media piece and allow the final product to be its best.
I have had several years experience with recording and editing sound through my volunteering position at the college radio station. I would say skills/ strengths I can bring to the team project would be editing both writing and recorded sections, being that I am a non-traditional older student I can bring a different view to the table as well. Other skills I have that could be beneficial is having worked with video recording in the past with a photography class I can assist on angles for the camera and placement of actor or focus piece of the shot.
Behaviors to practice that would be beneficial to a team project would be listening skills and critiquing skills. I think that being a good listener is an essential part to group work so that all ideas and voices are heard creating the final piece with all members inputs not just the “leaders” view.
Having good critiquing skills is essential as well, since it will allow members to alter, adjust or better the product at the same time keeping others feelings and ideas in mind. I can work on my understanding of the topic that my group chooses so that I can make sure I have a clear understanding of the topic and will be able to properly represent and speak on behave of it.
